Doctors vs The Universe

January 30, 2012 - 11:10 am

The last time I posted about t-shirts, I mentioned that I had a second Doctor Who related shirt on the way, this one comes by way of TeeRaiders, but it’s not an exclusive design. I’ve been seeing this shirt show up around the internet on a number of different sites, but I’ve held back until now. I just couldn’t take it anymore, it’s too awesome. Not only does it combine one of my favorite movies, Scott Pilgrim v. The World, with one of my favorite TV shows, but it also features Martha Jones, who happens to be one of my favorite companions. She doesn’t get nearly enough love.

The second shirt comes from RIPT Apparel and is called “Doctorama.” This shirt isn’t specifically a Doctor Who shirt, but it does feature four of the doctors along with a mess of other famous pop culture doctors. It’s pretty great and the best part is that they are all presented as Futurama-styled heads-in-a-jar. The only thing I don’t like about the shirt is Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory. I could do without him.

A Timey-Wimey Night Zombie Walks into Mordor in the Morning…

December 28, 2011 - 3:18 pm

Yikes! It’s been a while since I’ve posted about t-shirts. I’ve been slacking quite a bit, some of these shirts are a couple months old already and have been sitting on my dining room table waiting to be photographed.

The first is titled “The Happiest Place in Middle Earth” and came from The Yetee. Very simply, this shirt combines two things I am a huge fan of, Disney World and Lord of the Rings.

Second, we have a Night Birds shirt from when I saw them in the beginning of this month. I didn’t have much of a choice with which design to go with if I wanted to stay with am SFW one, so I went with the plain one.

Next up, we have “Troy and Abed in the Morning,” from TeeRaiders. This is not my first Community shirt, but I couldn’t resist this one. Unfortunately, TeeRaiders prints their shirts on Gildan Heavy Cotton which kind of sucks, but at least their shirts are only $10.

Fourth, is “The Original Zombie Walk” from TeeFury. I already have a ton of zombie shirts and generally try to hold back on buying more, but a 5k inspired one (even if it’s specifically a walk and not a run) nicely set itself apart from the others out there.

Lastly, we have “Tennant’s Timepiece Repair” from ShirtPunch. I couldn’t hold back on wearing this shirt a few weeks ago so I snapped a few quick photos on my phone which is why these are of lower quality. Anyway, this is my first Doctor Who shirt, but I can already say it won’t be my last as I have another one on the way. Somehow, I’ve yet to post anything around here about Doctor Who, but it’s something I’ve gotten myself very obsessed with over the last few months. I got into it at the end of the Summer and blew through the Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors pretty quickly. Now I’m working on Torchwood and then I plan to start with the First Doctor and move my way up from there. My wife hates how into this I’ve gotten. But, back to the shirt. I chose this as my first because it showcases my favorite Doctor (so far), David Tennant, plus it’s a design that keeps a good sense of humor is doesn’t scream “Doctor Who” to those who aren’t into the show.

An assorted bunch of new t-shirts

August 22, 2011 - 10:50 pm

So I’ve got a few new shirts here that need to be posted. The first two have been sitting around for a couple weeks, and actually, I’ve worn them already.

This first one comes from Threadless.com. It’s called Old, Old Friend.

This next one is from RIPT Apparel and called A Flesh Wound. A Month Python reference mixed with LEGO is more than enough to sell me.
The third shirt came from Insubordination Fest last weekend.
And finally, here is what is now my second Phineas and Ferb shirt. That’s kind of ridiculous, but it’s an awesome show and a solidly nerdy shirt. As soon as it went on sale at Threadless, I had to pull the trigger.

Phineas and Ferb shirt

July 14, 2011 - 9:56 pm

This shirt is awesome. My fiancée got it for me a couple weeks for no good reason and I love it. We fell in love with Phineas and Ferb after our last trip to Disney World. We shared a room with our friends who are very into the show and they got us hooked. Since then, Doofensmirtz and Perry the Platypus have become the source of many inside jokes in our household.

T-shirt from Tilteed

July 6, 2011 - 10:29 pm

This is a new shirt I got from Tilteed recently. It’s actually been sitting on my dining room table for a couple weeks waiting to be photographed, but that doesn’t change the fact that it took a few weeks to come either. Oh well, it’s a cute shirt. Nothing super special, but I like it.

Greendale Human Beings

June 9, 2011 - 9:39 pm

This shirt was a no brainer when I saw it on RIPT. I’m a huge fan of Community and might even go so far as to say it’s in the top five shows currently running.

I can’t wait to wear it tomorrow.

Lost Luggage

May 25, 2011 - 10:05 pm

Here’s a new shirt I got from shirt.woot.com. I actually picked it up while it was on The Reckoning during the last Woot Off. I almost bought it the day that it was actually the shirt for the day, but I held off…only to be convinced to buy it a few days later for an extra $2. Oh well!

Back to the Future shirt

March 30, 2011 - 9:41 pm

I picked up this shirt from Tee Fury a couple weeks ago. It was one of those shirts that you know as soon as you see it that you just have to get it. As a nerd and lover of Back to the Future as well as a runner, it’s a great fit. Love it!

New Threadless shirt

January 1, 2011 - 10:16 am

My fiancée got me this shirt from Threadless for Christmas. I can’t believe I forgot to post about it until today. The name of the shirt is “Photographer.” Whoops! Anyway, happy New Year!

Got some Threadless shirts

November 5, 2010 - 7:40 am

I got a couple new Threadless shirts in the mail last week, but I haven’t had a chance to post them yet because of the move. “People Like Us” was a random shirt. I’m not really that into it, but it’s alright. Threadless doesn’t do random shirts often (I don’t recall ever seeing them do it before, actually) so I figured it’d be worth a shot since they have so many good shirts.

“The Red” is a shirt I’ve been eyeing for a while, but never got because of how low the graphic goes on the shirt. Shirts like that rarely look good on me. But since they had a sale going for Halloween, I figured it was finally time to pull the trigger. I’m wearing it today and it actually looks pretty good on.
