The last time I posted about t-shirts, I mentioned that I had a second Doctor Who related shirt on the way, this one comes by way of TeeRaiders, but it’s not an exclusive design. I’ve been seeing this shirt show up around the internet on a number of different sites, but I’ve held back until now. I just couldn’t take it anymore, it’s too awesome. Not only does it combine one of my favorite movies, Scott Pilgrim v. The World, with one of my favorite TV shows, but it also features Martha Jones, who happens to be one of my favorite companions. She doesn’t get nearly enough love.
The second shirt comes from RIPT Apparel and is called “Doctorama.” This shirt isn’t specifically a Doctor Who shirt, but it does feature four of the doctors along with a mess of other famous pop culture doctors. It’s pretty great and the best part is that they are all presented as Futurama-styled heads-in-a-jar. The only thing I don’t like about the shirt is Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory. I could do without him.

Thanks to my fiancée’s Valentine’s Day gift to me, Bender, my MacBook Pro got a very appropriate tattoo.
The decal is from LapTatt.com.

Futurama is friggin’ back! Hell yeah!
I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. As much as I love (love love love love) The Simpsons, I’ve always felt Futurama was overall a better and more sound show…even if it only works because of the ground that The Simpsons paved for it. Oh, how I’ve missed Futurama. The four movies were great and wrapped everything up really nicely, but I wanted more!
I’m sure many people have last night’s episodes DVRed and haven’t watched yet so I’m not going to spoil anything, but the writers actually found a great way to bring everything back from that seemingly final ending of the fourth movie. It works…very well. And it is consistent with the standard Futurama nonsense. Well done.
It was easy to be fearful that Futurama would have come back with the quality of a Simpsons episode from the last decade. I would be a liar if I said I wasn’t a little worried even after the movies gave hope. But somehow, Futrama kept things awesome and it all just felt right. Nothing was played safe either. The style and quality, all the same. Robosexuals, characters dying and coming back to life, Bender being an ass, Zap Brannigan. ALL THERE!
I’m so happy!

Wow. I think I can say with some confidence that this was the best of the four Futurama movies and ranks very highly among the best of the regular TV episodes. At the least, it was the most quotable. The only issue I could have with it is that in many parts of the flick they completely ignore things that happened in previous movies and episodes. That’s forgivable though, most animated series are like that and there were plenty of minor references to previous events and jokes to make up for it and an important part of the plot references one of my favorite episodes very heavily.
David X. Cohen recently said that the chances of Futurama coming back are about 50/50 right now, but if the series doesn’t come back, I think that this was a great way to end it. In fact, if it does come back, things may be a little complicated due to the “holy-shit-fucking-finally!” reaction inducing last three seconds.
Oh, and there was a cameo by Snoop Dogg, you can’t argue against that increasing the level of awesomeness of anything.

The second Futurama movie packs as much greatness into a single disc as the first one did. It’s super bizarre, but highly entertaining.
After a bit of inactivity following Bender’s Big Score, people have gone on with their lives, but the Universe has been ripped apart resulting in an anomaly appearing in the sky. After Professor Farnsworth beats Wernstrom in a rather hilarious game of Deathball, the Planet Express team ventures out to the anomaly to explore. Eventually Fry crosses through the anomaly and comes back with a gigantic tentacled beast.
I won’t go any further into the plot or touch and of the subplots because you should check this out yourself, but I will reiterate that this movie is thoroughly great albeit highly bizarre.
